YouTuber Zoe Amira Highlights Fundraising Method That Doesn't Require Money
For those looking to make a difference with limited cash.
Makeup artist Zoe Amira has introduced an innovative way to donate to anti-racism efforts without money. The beauty influencer has created a nearly two-hour-long monetized YouTube video, peppered with advertisements, compiling music and art by Black creators. Amira will donate all ad revenue earned from the video to various Black Lives Matter organizations and bail-out funds.
As outraged citizens and companies open their wallets to organizations taking action in the wake of George Floyd‘s death, Amira’s video offers a clever solution for anyone looking to contribute with limited cash. Yesterday, the YouTuber announced on Twitter that viewers have raised over $450 USD so far (a fan of the initiative compiled a Google Doc of the organizations Amira will split the funds between). To maximize profit, YouTube aficionados are also encouraging viewers to disable ad blocking software, and let ads run all the way through without skipping. Watching the video from different accounts also increases revenue.
