adidas Originals Prints the Classic Superstar Onto the Rivalry Low, Stan Smith & adilette
Trompe l’oeil completes the collection’s retro feel.
Having recently unveiled its collaboration with Pharrell Williams, adidas Originals is now highlighting its iconic Superstar shoe through classic silhouettes. The famous sneaker is printed onto the Rivalry Low, Stan Smith and adilettes to create an illusional effect.
Arriving as part of the 50th anniversary series for the Superstar, the “Super Classics” collection plays around with trompe l’oeil for a retro feel. The overall shape of the Rivalry Low, dubbed “Super Rivalry” for this collection, peeps through a Superstar print through white stitching details, while receiving a vintage feel overall with a beige hue splashed across the toe box and midsole. Similar design details are found on the Superstan, which is highlighted with overlapped Stan Smith and adidas branding at the tongue. Rounding off the “Super Classics” range is the superlette, which displays an image of the insole and upper area of the Superstar sneaker.
