Hip Hop Artist Lexie Liu Launches an Exclusive Jewelry Collection with COLLEC
Influenced by the rapper’s 2019 album ‘Meta Ego.’
Paris jewelry collective COLLEC has teamed up with hip hop musician Lexie Liu for the release of its latest collection. Dubbed “Meta Ego,” inspired by Liu’s 2019 album of the same name, the range consists of a necklace, a bracelet, pendants and earrings.
Arriving in a simple silver colorway, the offerings feature a figure of a manta ray, which is a symbol for defying nature and breaking stereotypes. “I saw manta rays for the first time in an aquarium behind those thick glass walls,” explains Liu in a press release. “I was in awe of these exquisite and delicate creatures with a little black tux on, a manta ray is like an elegant emissary or a rhetoric traveler between the stars and the ocean.” Jewelry is also a source of inspiration for Liu’s work. The rapper shares that she can tell a lot about a person’s characteristics through their choice of accessories.
