teamLab's Latest Project Brings Art Into Your Home

Letting you be a part of the ‘Flowers Bombing Home’ installation through technology.

Innovative art collective teamLab has become famous for its breathtaking installations utilizing everything from light to technology, changing the world’s perception of art through its visuals. Now, the collective is bringing the art installation into your own home through the use of your TV and smart devices.

As the coronavirus pandemic has swept the world, the industry has changed immensely in that physical spaces have had to remain closed for months, forcing teamLab to get creative. The new project lets you connect with the world through the new artwork, Flowers Bombing Home, and all you need to do is draw your flowers and watch them virtually bloom alongside other drawings by others across the world. “The flowers that people draw around the world will bloom until the end of the coronavirus. When the coronavirus ends, perhaps they will bloom and scatter all at once in various places all over the world. And, in the future, the flowers will continue to bloom forever as an artwork for people to remember this era,” said teamLab on the new project.

The artwork can be viewed on YouTube Live, and if you’re looking to participate, load the app and search for Flowers Bombing Home on your selected device. Below is the step-by-step process to get your artwork included.

  1. Draw your flower on the digital paper provided by teamLab.
  2. Upload your drawing to the official website.
  3. Watch the flowers bloom on the YouTube Live alongside flowers drawn by others around the world, creating a single artwork.
