Manasi 7 Is the Sustainable Beauty Brand Behind My New Favorite Highlighter
Strobelighter delivers a rose-scented, lit-from-within glow.
Throughout quarantine, most of my makeup products have sat unused, seeing only occasional use on the odd Zoom or FaceTime. Instead, my beauty routine has pivoted focus to the skin. I’ve largely eschewed bold eyeshadow or lip color in favor of peachy blushes and dewy highlighters that make me feel at least somewhat put together while passing the time at home. Over the course of the last few months, Manasi 7 has emerged as one of my favorite brands for its focus on versatile, sustainable products and universally flattering colors.
The Stockholm-based company produces its quietly elegant offerings on a small scale, minimizing water consumption and waste. Using only sustainably sourced vegan ingredients, Manasi 7 delivers a range of creamy pigments that can be used on the face, lips and eyes. The brand’s highlighter — which they dub Strobelighter — quickly stood out to me among its curated lineup of offerings.

WHAT IT IS: Manasi 7 Strobelighter in “Sunsubiro”
WHY IT’S WORTH THE HYPE: Manasi 7’s Strobelighter features a smooth, non-greasy formula that’s pearlescent instead of sparkly. Though “Sunsubiro,” my shade of choice, looks like a rosy pink blush, the highlighter isn’t heavily pigmented — it applies sheer and can be built up for added intensity. Gold flecks add warm iridescence, resulting in a lit-from-within glow.
I apply the Strobelighter with my fingers, allowing the product to melt into my skin. It’s made with coco caprylate, a lightweight emollient, sweet almond oil and shea butter, ingredients that moisturize without an oily or greasy finish. One sweep creates a beautiful highlight on the cheekbones, nose, cupid’s bow and inner corner of the eyes. Layering creates a more dramatic effect. It can even be mixed with moisturizer and foundation for a seriously radiant face, or patted over lip color and eyeshadow for a pop of shine. It’s clean, multi-purpose, effective and somehow smells like roses with any added fragrance — what more could you ask for?
