Amaal releases her new music video for her latest single, “Selfish,” off her second EP, Milly.

In the video, the R&B singer reflects on leaving a toxic relationship as she has the support of her girlfriends. “Selfish” perfectly exhibits one of the powerful themes Amaal tries to convey on Milly, which is also the musician’s nickname. According to a press release, the seven-track EP documents Amaal’s journey on discovering her personal autonomy and sexual liberation.

With “Selfish,” Amaal turns a bad situation into a creative female anthem. “You really thought that I would stick around,” she sings in the second verse. “Like how you wanted me to hold you down/ 365 I did my time with you/ Now it’s been going from a different view/ I swear it’s easy believe me/ You had a boss not a lady/ See I got options on top of options/ Up in the top betchu no one can stop.”
