Gucci Unveils "Hacker Project" Release Details
The project, from the Gucci Aria collection, was revealed back in April.
Gucci is set to release the highly anticipated “Hacker Project” collection — a range of designs that see Alessandro Michele “hacking” the house codes of Balenciaga — for the Fall/Winter 2021 season.
As revealed at the runway show in April, the collection features an expansive range of ready-to-wear garments and accessories, in addition to handbags and shoes. In apparel, the lineup includes jackets and coats covered in the GG monogram, which is “hacked” by Balenciaga’s logos on top. The maximalist designs also arrive in the form of lace blouses, sequined tops and street-ready parkas.
As for handbags, Michele has reworked iconic silhouettes from both houses, including Gucci’s Jackie 1961 and Balenciaga’s Hourglass. In particular, the Gvasalia-helmed brand’s Ville Top Handle bag is splashed with the GG monogram throughout.
In footwear, the Triple-S sneaker is given a Gucci-esque makeover with vibrant floral motifs. Gucci’s pumps, on the other hand, are emblazoned with Balenciaga’s logos. Rounding out the lineup are accessories, which include scarves, necklaces, bracelets, wallets and more.
The “Hacker Project” will launch on November 15 exclusively at Gucci’s stores and designated Pop Up and Pop In locations, which will be open for two weeks only.
