Insta-Favorite Label House of Sunny Opens Two Physical Stores in London
A new chapter for the brand loved for its whimsical prints.
Loved for its colorful prints and knitwear pieces, Insta-favorite label House of Sunny is expanding with two physical stores in London.
Founded in 2011 by Sunny Williams, the brand blew up last year after Kendall Jenner wore the Hockney dress. Its designs quickly took over social media, with more celebrities and influencers posting photos in the psychedelic patterned tops and dresses. Having declined numerous investment offers, according to WWD, House of Sunny still remains an independent brand.
For the upcoming Spring/Summer 2022 season, the London brand is expanding its offerings with its first-ever menswear range, which will be available in stores. “The opening of the first stores has been an organic development. We just felt after the lockdown and behind closed doors that there was so much more we could offer our customers,” founder Sunny Williams shares with HYPEBAE. “The growth of the brand has been really special to see and everyone in the team has been so focused that we haven’t had the chance to actually sit back and appreciate how amazing our journey has been so far.” He adds: “The fact that we have already seen just generally people walking past the stores wearing House of Sunny (whilst we are preparing) is perhaps an example of how something is building our there. We feel we can offer something new and exciting to the high street.”
Williams reveals what House of Sunny fans can look forward to at the new brick-and-mortar locations. “Fans can expect in true House of Sunny fashion, a really great in-store experience. One that allows them to visit us, meet the team, listen to the playlists, shop in stock and join the pre-order journey of SS22.” The spaces will be more than just retail stores: “Get involved with our indie collars, café and artist corners where they can discover more cool media. They can join us in a brick-and-mortar experience in which we wish to adapt and change from the normal traditions of the past with new sustainable, recycled materials and effective work-inspired space.”
