UPDATE (December 21, 2021): HBO Max has released its first official trailer for the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special, and it will most likely have you in your feels.
The trailer shows Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint reunited with other cast members as they reminisce on their early days working together. “It’s a very heartwarming thing ’cause I’ve watched you grow up and I’ve seen kind of every stage of your life,” Grint tells Watson, who is later seen shedding a tear.

UPDATE (December 16, 2021): A month after the Harry Potter reunion with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint was confirmed, fans now get a sneak peek of the upcoming special.
HBO Max took to its official Instagram to share a photo of the cast all grown up. “A moment 20 years in the making,” read the caption, along with details of the special’s premiere date. “Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: #ReturnToHogwarts is streaming on HBO Max New Year’s Day.”

UPDATE (November 16, 2021): HBO Max has confirmed that a Harry Potter reunion is on the way. The special will reunite the famous Hogwarts trio: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.
The episode will also feature other cast members from the eight Harry Potter films to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Filmmaker Chris Columbus will also be present during the reunion, which will “tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new, in-depth interviews and cast conversations,” as per the streaming platform.

ORIGINAL STORY (November 9, 2021): Calling all muggles — Warner Bros. is reportedly working on a Harry Potter reunion.
You heard that right, the movie’s leads — Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint — along with other cast members have been invited to film a special episode at the Warner Brothers Studio Tour in London. According to The Sun, “movie bigwigs” aim to follow the success of the Friends reunion by creating a Hogwarts version. This one-off special will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise’s first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
“The proposed show is being shrouded in secrecy as franchise bosses want to get talent locked in first. It would be amazing if they pull it off and they have offered big money to the cast to reunite,” a source shared with The Sun. “Many of the actors have moved on, but the movies launched them to superstardom. They all have lots of fond memories from their time filming together. Everyone is hopeful it will happen.”
