A glimpse into the cast re-reading their most iconic lines.

UPDATE (May 19, 2021): Friends: The Reunion is set to finally premiere on HBO Max next week. In anticipation of the special episode, the streaming platform has released its official trailer.

Starring the original six, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer are seen re-creating Season 4’s “The One with the Embryos” where Schwimmer reads a series of questions to his fellow cast members about the show. “Rachel wrote Ross a letter and demanded he read it before they got back together. How many pages was that letter?” he asks, referring to Season 4’s “The One With The Jellyfish.” “18 pages!” LeBlanc yells out, followed by Schimmer wanting more out of his response and Aniston blurting out, “Front and back!”

In addition, the special will feature a sit-down interview hosted by James Corden, along with segments where the cast read some of their iconic lines from old scripts. Other stars will also make an appearance, including BTS, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, James Michael Tyler (who played Gunther), Maggie Wheeler (who played Janice), Reese Witherspoon (who played Rachel’s younger sister Jill in Season 6) and more.

ORIGINAL STORY (May 13, 2021): This is not a drill – HBO Max is finally set to release the reunion special of Emmy Award-winning comedy TV show Friends. Originally scheduled to premiere last year, the streaming platform had to push back production due to the ongoing pandemic.

The beloved ’90s sitcom first aired back in 1994 and completed its final season 17 years ago on May 6, 2004. The entire original cast – Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer – will be in the unscripted episode, which was filmed at the series’ original soundstage on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California.

In addition, more stars will make an appearance in the special, including BTS, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, David Beckham, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, James Michael Tyler (who played Gunther), Maggie Wheeler (who played Janice), Reese Witherspoon (who played Rachel’s younger sister Jill in Season 6) and Malala Yousafzai, among others.

Watch the short yet nostalgic teaser above. Friends: The Reunion will officially air on May 27 exclusively on HBO Max.
