Billie Eilish Is Currently Working on Her Third Album
Less than six months after ‘Happier Than Ever’ was released.
Billie Eilish is working on her third studio album just a few months after she released Happier Than Ever in July.
Her brother-slash-producer, Finneas, revealed the exciting news during the latest episode of the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast. “We’re really excited to start working on it,” he said. “We’ve got the net in the ocean, and we’re picking up detritus. And then you sift through all that, and you pick out the treasure, and then you have an album. I’m really excited. I think we’ve got a lot to say.”
Finneas explained that since it’s still early on in the process, they’re still figuring out what the album will sound like. “We have, like, interesting skeletons,” he added. “And we’re not sure what animals they are.”
Eilish has yet to tour for Happier Than Ever, which means her forthcoming album will most likely not arrive until after the final show wraps up in September 2022. “The tour is this album,” Finneas said. “We’ve played some festivals, but we haven’t done Billie headliner solo shows, and we’re really excited to play Happier Than Ever on the road. So even if it’s in the can by February, we’ll (delay it) for a bit. Because I like letting projects breathe. You don’t want to step on the toes of an album like that. You make your stuff mean less when you do that.”
