Netflix's Kanye West Documentary Is Heading to Sundance
The ‘JEEN-YUHS’ trilogy captures an intimate and revealing portrait of Ye’s journey.
Back in September, Netflix released the first look of its trilogy documentary, JEEN-YUHS, based on Kanye West, aka Ye. Now, the streaming giant has announced that JEEN-YUHS will be making its way to the 2022 Sundance Festival in January.
Directed by Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah, the project was shot over 20 years capturing “an intimate and revealing portrait of Kanye West’s experience, showcasing both his formative days trying to break through and his life today as a global brand and artist,” as per Netflix’s tweet.
As seen in the trailer, the documentary includes never-before-seen footage of the artist’s early career. Having approved the clips featured in the film, JEEN-YUHS was sold to Netflix for more than $30 million USD in April, according to Billboard.
Netflix has yet to confirm when JEEN-YUHS will be landing on the platform next year. In the meantime, watch the full trailer above.
