Maison Kitsuné Officially Names Marcus Clayton as Its New Creative Director
Louis Vuitton and Fenty are on the designer’s resume.
Maison Kitsuné has appointed British designer Marcus Clayton as its creative director.
After guest-designing several ready-to-wear collections for the label in the past and working with LVMH brands like Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and Fenty, Clayton brings his years of experience to strengthen the Paris-based label’s signature blended international aesthetic.
“My best experiences are where the people with their names on the door are still involved in the company. It becomes something more special than working with a sea of executives,” Clayton tells Business of Fashion in an interview.
The new creative mind behind Maison Kitsuné is working on the brand’s upcoming Fall/Winter 2022 collection as well as the brand’s first-ever runway show for Spring/Summer 2023, which will debut in June during Paris Fashion Week.
The designer plans to expand the 20-year-old fashion house’s offering with outerwear and denim, telling BoF “we want to start to give [our] customer a stronger wardrobe and more fashion-forward image. The clientele and age range is already there.”
