Billie Honors International Women's Day With New "Think of a Woman" Campaign Video
Underrepresented individuals weigh in on their definition of the “perfect woman.”
In celebration of International Women’s Day, Billie has unveiled a new thought-provoking campaign dubbed “Think of a Woman.” The visual questions who we are really celebrating this IWD and digs deeper into the question of, “What do you think of when you think of the perfect woman?”
According to a press release, the beauty brand conducted a survey on the definition of a woman where it discovered that the “majority of the focus group still thought of women through a one-dimensional, cis-focused lens.” Due to society homogenizing the female experience since the beginning of time, hyper-feminine mold, transgender women and gender non-confirming individuals are left little room for equal representation.
Directed by Quinn Whitney Wilson, the visual spotlights underrepresented women, further educating the public and uncovering the biases we have all been programmed to believe. In addition, Billie has put together an interactive exercise titled the “Billie Brain Scan” for its customers to discover their own unconscious biases.
