Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Hold Nothing Back in Tell-All Interview With Oprah Winfrey
The Duchess of Sussex opens up about mental health and concerns that were raised over her son’s skin color.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sat down with none other than Oprah Winfrey for an exclusive two-hour interview. In the CBS Primetime Special, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex share untold stories behind the palace’s walls, some of which come as a shock.
Among the many revelations, Markle admitted she “didn’t want to be alive anymore” due to the toxicity of a British tabloid and lack of support from the Royal Family. On top of that, “the Firm” had “concerns and conversations about how dark [son Archie’s] skin was going to be when he was born.”
For those who are unfamiliar with “the Firm,” the term is another name for the Royal Family. “There’s the family and then the people running the institution. The Queen has always been wonderful to me,” Markle elaborated. Later on, Harry confirmed this fact but added: “That conversation, I’m never going to share. It was awkward and I was a bit shocked.” On a lighter note, the couple revealed that they are expecting a baby girl this summer and are content with just two children.
