Dr. Martens and Suicoke Welcome Sandal Season With a Collaborative Drop
Featuring reworked versions of the Japanese label’s Boak and Depa silhouettes.
Dr. Martens has tapped Suicoke to create a capsule collection of sandals for the upcoming spring season. The collaboration consists of two innovative silhouettes that blend the duo’s signature techniques and heritage.
“Dr. Martens and Suicoke share a mutual understanding and unique approach to design that consistently challenges creative development — utilizing only the highest quality materials,” the Japanese brand stated in a press release. “We don’t intend to design to a specific demographic, but simply make something special. It shouldn’t be distinguished from our side but rather by the consumer. They are the ones with the freedom and right to choose the product if it fits their lifestyle,” it added.
Merging Suicoke’s footbed with Dr. Martens’ Lorsan outsole, the reworked Boak and Depa silhouettes are made out of smooth black leather material. The former footwear style comes with a branded pull tab, while the latter sports sturdy clip buckles. Both designs are rounded out with Dr. Martens’ signature heel tab and yellow welt stitching.
Suicoke x Dr. Martens’ sandal collection will be available on March 13 via Suicoke and Dr. Martens‘ websites, as well as select online retailers.
