Steven Meisel Lenses Louis Vuitton's "Capucines" 2021 Leather Goods Campaign
Spotlighting the intimate relationship between a woman and her handbag.
Louis Vuitton has unveiled its latest leather goods campaign dubbed “Capucines.” Art directed by none other than Nicolas Ghesquière and shot by renowned photographer Steven Meisel, the visuals star French actor and brand ambassador Léa Seydoux.
“The Capucines represents the essence of French savoir-faire. I’m very honored to be the Capucines ambassador as it’s a handbag I love and wear all the time,” Seydoux shared in a press release. The campaign highlights the intimate relationship between a woman and her handbag, as well as spotlights the timeless aesthetic of the Capucines silhouette. Inspired by Rue Neuve-des-Capucines, the location where the fashion house first opened back in 1854, the iconic design is crafted out of unique leather material. As per the label, it also “contains a multitude of crafted elements assembled in hundreds of steps and brings together the house’s unparalleled traditional savoir-faire.”
