Sonos and IKEA Tease New SYMFONISK Speakers
Including a speaker hidden in a piece of wall art.
Sonos and IKEA are working on new speakers. Both companies took to Instagram Stories with a brief teaser video confirming the expansion of their collaborative SYMFONISK line.
Giving customers a preview of what their upcoming offerings might entail, Sonos and IKEA applied for a new FCC filing that details a novel creation: a piece of wall art with a built-in speaker. According to a report by The Verge, details on how the speaker functions — as well as the design of its decorative facade — are still unclear. A more straightforward discovery, a revamped version of Sonos and IKEA’s SYMFONISK table lamp is also covered in the filing.
“The partnership [between Sonos and IKEA] is stronger than ever and we’re excited about the products we’re working on together,” a Sonos representative told Pocket-lint. “We look forward to sharing more when the time is right.”
