Marimekko x UNIQLO Drop a Midsummer-Inspired Collection
Vibrant dresses, patterned skirts and more.
Shortly after unveiling its collaboration with Roy Lichtenstein, UNIQLO is also set to launch a team-up with Finnish home furnishings, textiles and fashion brand Marimekko. Inspired by the Nordic tradition of Midsummer, the range is comprised of feminine silhouettes dressed in seven different patterns that combine Nordic style and Japanese elements.
Designed by four Marimekko designers, the women’s and children’s silhouettes arrive in the form of denim items, dresses and accessories. Standouts include the matching denim V neck top and skirt that comes in a plaids and stripes print called “Aitanovi” by Annika Rimala. Elsewhere, the one-piece dress features a “Seitsemän Kukkaa” print designed by Fujiwo Ishimoto, which boasts colorful graphic flowers influenced by ancient Finnish midsummer customs. In accessories, customers can expect wide-brimmed hats, shoulder bags and canvas sandals available in an array of summer-ready hues.
