Proenza Schouler x Birkenstock Collaborate on New Unisex Sandals
The Arizona and Milano are updated in colorways of cobalt blue and black.
Birkenstock and Proenza Schouler have prolonged their partnership with another drop of unisex footwear that reimagines classic styles — the Arizona and Milano sandals — in new colorways.
A continuation of the duo’s popular collaboration that released in the spring of 2020, the Proenza Schouler x Birkenstock Collection 2 preserves the much-loved design details that were prominent in the first drop. With influences from utilitarian workwear and athletic footwear, the sandals are crafted from calf leather, and are designed with a hook-and-loop closure instead of hardware buckles typical of Birks. Industrial contrast topstitching, another standout feature of the designer collaboration, add a dash of cool to the versatile shoes.
The two brands have enlisted American photographer Collier Schorr to shoot the campaign for this special re-issue. Singer-songwriter King Princess models the entire range of sandals, which come in some of Proenza Schouler’s signature colors: cobalt blue, burgundy, and versatile neutrals in black (paired with yellow stitching), ecru and white.
The capsule collection will be available at the Birkenstock 1774 website, the Proenza Schouler website and select retailers worldwide starting August 6.
