Salehe Bembury x New Balance Announce 574 Collab Release Date
The whistle-equipped shoe will launch with a range of co-branded apparel.
UPDATE (October 5, 2021): After much anticipation, Salehe Bembury and New Balance have finally revealed more details on their upcoming collaboration.
As teased earlier, the team-up is led by the 574 Yurt shoe. Inspired by the outdoors, the sneaker comes with a mesh base on the upper accompanied by a chunky midsole. The design is highlighted with a whistle attached to the heel, making the kicks extra handy. “The New Balance 574 Yurt was created so that you don’t have to worry about remembering every item, because we’ve merged two into one with a whistle on the sneaker,” Bembury spoke of the collaboration.
In addition to footwear, the duo is dropping a collection of tees, hoodies, pants and caps featuring Bembury’s signature fingerprint motif. Each item features “Yurt” lettering alongside NB and Bembury’s branding.

UPDATE (September 14, 2021): Following an initial teaser, Salehe Bembury has now unveiled a new colorway for his upcoming footwear collaboration with New Balance. The 574 sneaker will be arriving in a three-toned iteration along with the gray design.
Working with his longtime friend Jesse Williams, Bembury has crafted the sneaker model in moss green contrasted with red accents on the forefoot overlays and lining, as well as the “N” logo on the sides. The chunky midsole arrives in beige with hits of khaki green. The tongue dons “NB Yurt 574” branding to highlight the partnership. The design is complete with a whistle on the heel that you can actually blow into, as seen in the video below.
The duo has yet to announce a release date, but we’re expecting the Salehe Bembury x New Balance Yurt 574 to arrive in the coming weeks.
ORIGINAL STORY (September 6, 2021): As fans wait to get their hands on the designer’s anticipated Crocs collaboration, Salehe Bembury has now unveiled the first look at his fourth team-up with New Balance. This time around, the duo has worked on the 574 model in a grayscale colorway.
Unlike his previous creations for NB, Bembury has opted for a muted theme overall. The shoe is constructed with a mix of mesh and suede across the upper, which is accompanied by the tonal “N” branding on the sides. A “Salehe Bembury” tag is attached to the laterals to highlight the collaboration. Standing out from the design is a whistle-like piece extending from the heel, while the sneaker sits atop a chunky white midsole.
