Everything You Need To Know About 'Bridgerton' Season 2
Your go-to guide on Viscount Anthony’s season.
In honor of Bridgerton‘s highly anticipated second season coming soon, we’ve compiled what you need to know ahead of the premiere. Keep scrolling to learn more about what’s to come in the Regency England drama, which will now focus on Viscount Anthony Bridgerton’s love story.
Bridgerton Season 2 will be available to stream on Netflix on March 25.
Season 2 is also based on a book.
The upcoming season is based on Julia Quinn’s second Bridgerton novel, The Viscount Who Loved Me.
There will be new characters and lots of hidden surprises.
Jonathan Bailey, who portrays Anthony, has given fans a taste of what to expect in the Netflix series second season. “I feel like the campy, plush spectacle of the Bridgerton world is only going to get more pronounced in the best way possible,” he told British Vogue. “It’s mad, and it’s brilliant. There are also going to be a lot of brilliant characters introduced in this series – and it’s not just Anthony that we’re going to delve into … The robust universe that’s been set up by Shonda [Rhimes] and Chris [Van Dusen] will just expand, and keep pushing boundaries in a way that’s quietly subversive. There’s just going to be more of what everyone loves, I think. There’s loads of little Easter Eggs for all of the characters.”
The Duke of Hastings won’t be making an appearance.
Back in April, the series’ official Instagram posted a note from Lady Whistledown, revealing that Regé-Jean Page won’t be part of the forthcoming season. “While all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s quest to find a Viscountess, we bid adieu to Regé-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke of Hastings,” read the post. “We’ll miss Simon’s presence on-screen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family.”
All of the Bridgertons, including Daphne, will be featured in Season 2.
“Daphne will remain a devoted wife and sister, helping her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer — more intrigue and romance than my readers may be able to bear,” the Instagram post revealed.
