Instagram Now Allows Users To "Remix" Their Reels Videos
Similar to TikTok Duets, where creators can interact with others on the platform.
Instagram recently announced that creators will now be able to repurpose video content outside short reels on the app. The feature, titled “Remix,” allows users to record videos as a means of highlighting or interacting with others — reminiscent of TikTok Duets.
The company wishes to offer more ways for its users to “reinvent their content,” but the change only applies to videos posted after its release. Creators can implement public videos as a whole or part of their remix, which can be done by tapping the three-dot menu on the upper-right corner.
If you think you won’t find yourself using this function, you can disable it under the “Reels and Remix Controls” setting. Although the default option for all users is set to “on,” creators can also disable remixes on a case-by-case basis.
Additionally, Instagram has also enabled users to highlight the details of a scheduled Live session on their profiles. This means users can forgo the creation of a feed post for a particular event.
