Julia Garner Cons New York City in Official 'Inventing Anna' Trailer

“Anna Delvey is a masterpiece, bitches!”

Ahead of the premiere of Shonda Rhimes‘ Inventing Anna, Netflix has finally released the limited series‘ official trailer.

The nine-episode project follows the real story of Russian-born German Anna Delvey, New York City’s infamous con woman, who was sentenced to prison after being convicted in 2019 for stealing a total of $200,000 USD from banks and businesses. In February 2021, Delvey was released for good behavior.

The video offers fans a closer look at Julia Garner portraying her role as the “Instagram-legendary German heiress,” as described by the streaming giant. In one scene, Anna asks New York Magazine reporter Vivian (Anna Chlumsky) in her German accent, “What are you wearing? You look poor,” while Megan Thee Stallion’s “Do It on the Tip” track plays in the background. The trailer also reveals one of Anna’s victims pleading for her money back, to which Anna replies: “Why are you being like this? So dramatic.”

Watch the full trailer above. Inventing Anna will hit Netflix on February 11.
