Martine Rose's SS22 Collection Is Inspired by Vintage Posters and Rave Flyers
Presented through a surreal lookbook lensed by Sharna Osborne, Camille Vivier and Rosie Marks.
Martine Rose, renowned for her unconventional designs, has unveiled her Spring/Summer 2022 collection. Her inspirations stem from airbrush Athena posters from the ’80s, as well as “Carefree Dancing” and “Alive With Pleasure” ’90s rave flyers.
The surreal lookbook is comprised of satin trousers and shirts dressed in telephone prints featuring the 1982 “Long Distance Kiss” poster for Athena by illustrator Syd Brak. Other highlights include the ’90s-inspired paint-doused tracksuits from the ’90s that emulate rave attire. A variety of leather pieces adorn Trompe l’oeil effects, which pair well with the color-blocked trousers in “Pale Lime” and “Ocean Blue” hues. Other notable apparel spans track jackets, tucked short-sleeve shirts and football tops that are either braided, notched or sliced.
Martine Rose’s SS22 collection will launch via the brand’s website at the end of January.
