Prada x adidas Bring Their Latest Collab Into the Metaverse
Spotlighting 3,000 digital images created by people in fashion, design and crypto.
Prada and adidas have joined forces on a user-generated NFT project that ties back to their recent Re-Nylon collaboration. Dubbed “adidas for Prada re-source,” the new project will feature 3,000 digital images produced by creators in fashion, design and crypto.
Creatives will be able to mint their work as an NFT, which will be pieced together by coder and digital artist Zach Lieberman. The resulting product will drop via an auction hosted by NFT marketplace SuperRare. Proceeds from the event will go to Slow Factory, a non-profit organization that works to “create education to drive meaningful solutions and inclusive communities,” as per a press release. Additionally, parties interested in joining will still retain full ownership of their designs.
Beginning January 24, anyone with a digital wallet can participate in this project by sending a photo using a filter designed by Lieberman. A total of 3,000 submissions will be chosen, with 1,000 spots reserved for holders of adidas Originals’ Into the Metaverse NFT, 500 for those who failed to purchase the said NFT, and the other 1,500 for the general public. Creators of selected pieces will be able to mint their NFT for free from January 26 to 27, with the project available for auction from January 28 to 31.
