Elon Musk Will Be Charging Twitter Users $20 USD per Month for Verification

Seriously?

Your favorite billionaire Elon Musk is on a quest to make even more money as the businessman and space enthusiast will be charging Twitter users $20 USD per month to verify their accounts.

The new Twitter owner is attempting to establish Twitter Blue, a subscription service for the social media platform that will run user $4.99 USD per month and comes with a more expensive subscription that provides users with additional benefits including verification with a cost.

Reportedly, Musk is giving his employees an ultimatum, forcing them to change the subscription service by November 7 or risk losing their jobs. Those who are currently verified on Twitter will also be forced into paying to keep their precious blue checks as they have 90 days to subscribe to the new Twitter Blue plan once it’s instituted or they’ll lose their verification.

A week into his position as Twitter’s CEO, Musk responded to John Kraus, a space flight photographer, “The whole verification process is being revamped right now.”

Stay tuned for updates.
