Lizzo’s Airbrushed Blonde Tresses Represent Houston, Texas Like No Other
The only thing that was missing were the gold teeth to match.
As a southern editor, I appreciate Lizzo‘s dramatic homage to spray-paint culture with her recent city-landscaped painted hair update on her special concert tour to her hometown of Houston, Texas.
The hairstyle was a full circle moment full of nostalgic nods and memories in her blonde tresses. Through the airbrushed hair, a white styrofoam cup full of purple liquid (if you know, you know) is poured out over the city’s night skyline. Texas-based artist Dreamz was tapped by Lizzo’s go-to hairstylist, Shelby Swain, to design Houston’s downtown landscape throughout the body of her hair. Bringing the look home, Lizzo’s resident makeup artist Alexx Mayo gave the star a vibrant blush-filled beat and the perfect pink ombrè look to seal the deal.
Lizzo’s concert moment immediately brought back the memories of the late ’90s and early ’00s when creativity was shown through airbrush — signaling that a trend will always be a trend.
