These adidas Y-3 Gazelles Are a Minimalist's Dream

adidas and Yohji Yamamoto have just unveiled two new iterations of the cult-loved Gazelle silhouette, but this time, the high-profile sneaker is kitted out in luxurious tonal suede.
Available in classic black or off-white and beige colorways, the new sneaker features all the markings of the Gazelle that we know and love, but it’s ever-so-slightly elevated thanks to exposed stitching, new mudguards and debossed Y-3 branding on its soft leather patched heel. The sneaker also comes complete with ‘Yohji Yamamoto’ on its upper, displayed in classy gray foil lettering.
The sneaker’s classic Three Stripe branding is given a subtle makeover, too, showcased through monochrome multi-layered panelling and exaggerated, frayed stitching, complete with excess string draping down from various parts of the shoe’s clean upper. The addition of the string appears to be a sustainable design choice, as not to waste the extra material but instead to incorporate it into the otherwise clean design.
