Bad Bunny Sets the World Record for the Highest Grossing Tour in a Year With $435.38 Million USD
Consisting of 81 shows.
Bad Bunny has broken yet another record as we reach the end of the year. The Puerto Rican artist set the world record for the highest grossing tour in a calendar year. Living up to its name, The World’s Hottest Tour has amassed $435.38 million USD, surpassing the previous record set by Ed Sheeran at $432.3 million USD with his Divide tour.
Bad Bunny kicked off his tour on August 5 in Florida and concluded it on December 10 in Mexico City. The World’s Hottest Tour is his second tour of 2022; he previously embarked on the El Último Tour Del Mundo tour, in support of his previous album of the same name.
“I think we all feel very proud of what he’s accomplished. It’s a feat that is remarkable,” Hans Schafer, SVP of Global Touring at Live Nation told Pollstar. “It is huge for Latin music and unprecedented and a remarkable accomplishment on its own, regardless of genre, to see an artist of his age reaching those heights is just something that makes it very promising for us, of what the future holds.”
After a busy yet successful year, Bad Bunny recently revealed he will be slowing things down next year. “I’m taking a break,” he told Billboard. “2023 is for me, for my physical health, my emotional health to breathe, enjoy my achievements. We’re going to celebrate. Let’s go here, let’s go there, let’s go on the boat. I have a couple of sporadic commitments, and I’ll go to the studio, but there’s no pressure. Remember yourself, cabrón. You’ve worked your ass off.”
