Kehlani Announces Release Date for New Album 'Blue Water Road'
This singer released the single “Little Story” last month.
Kehlani has confirmed the release date for her forthcoming album, Blue Water Road, which is set to arrive on April 29. Following the release of tracks “Little Story” and “Altar,” in a press release, Kehlani calls the upcoming LP “a destination in my mind,” adding that she’s “giving everyone access. It’s an emotional journey, a sexual journey and a spiritual journey. To me, the album is like a glasshouse. It’s light, transparent and the sun is shining right through it.”
The music video for “Little Story” boasted intensely cinematic visuals set to the emotional lyrics. She sings, “I want you to pick up the pen and write me into the story/ You know I love a story, only when you’re the author/ Tryna meet you at the altar/ Workin’ on bein’ softer.” Given Kehlani’s always impactful lyricism, Blue Water Road is shaping up to be an emotional auditory journey for fans of the singer.
