Nike Covers the Air Force 1 in the Perfect Shade of Black

Yes, black has shades.

Minimalists know that not all shades of black are made equal. There’s the sleek jet black, warm onyx and the spectrum of off-black shades. Also referred to as “vintage black,” the hue evokes archival band tees and perfectly worn in cargos.

Nike channels the perfectly washed out black t-shirt for the latest Air Force 1. The “Off-Noir” shade gives the sneaker a slightly aged look, a trend that’s gaining a great deal of traction having influenced Nike Dunk and AF1 Mid silhouettes.

The Air Force 1 Low “Off-Noir” comes fully dressed in its titular shade, apart from hits of white on the tongue tag, heel and midsole. The model implements a matte nubuck textile on the upper, separating the release from the standard leather makeups.

Look out for the AF1 “Off-Noir” to release on March 18 via Nike for $130 USD.

In other footwear news, Kristen Noel Crawley previews the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 in yellow.
