GANNI Updates Dr. Scholl's Wooden Sandals With Vibrant Prints

Splashed with a retro, ’60s-inspired palette.

Following its collaborations with Ahluwalia and Juicy Couture, GANNI has now teamed up with Dr. Scholl’s for a footwear release.

The unexpected team-up features the heritage brand’s classic wood sandal, which is updated with the Copenhagen label’s vibrant colors and prints. Maintaining the original wooden sole, the shoe features five ’60s-inspired patterns on the straps, ranging from florals and smileys, to hearts and butterflies.

This marks a fashionable return of Dr. Scholl’s wood sandal, which has been a go-to since its inception in the ’60s. The heritage design is crafted in Italy while using 100% certified organic cotton on the straps and 51% post-consumer recycled polyester on the lining. The sole is made using manmade rubber and Forest Stewardship Council certified wood.

GANNI’s creative director Ditte Reffstrup shared in a press release: “Dr. Scholl’s wooden sandal has been a global shoe icon since the 60s, so getting the opportunity to do a GANNI take on a cult fashion item like this is a dream come true. We’re on a shared journey to become the most responsible of ourselves and I’m super proud to say that this is Dr. Scholl’s most responsible collab to date.”

Priced at $215 USD, the Dr. Scholl’s x GANNI sandals are now available on GANNI’s website and in stores worldwide.
