Lizzo Reveals She's Polyamorous Because Monogamy Is "A Little Claustrophobic"
Welcome to the club.
Recently, Lizzo had pop culture up in arms trying to determine who she was dating. After confirming Myke Wright as her new beau, she’s made a less-expected announcement.
According to Lizzo’s latest appearance on the morning radio show The Breakfast Club, she doesn’t believe monogamy is the best fit for her.
“Monogamy, to me, is a little claustrophobic because there are rules. I think a love relationship that’s not monogamous has no rules. I think people who do poly and all that stuff—there’s still rules,” she shared with the show’s cast.
However, this doesn’t mean that her love for her man is running low — it’s quite the contrary. “I think a traditional relationship scares me… but love is forever. I can love somebody forever,” Lizzo said.
Cleverly, one of the show’s hosts Angela Yee asked Lizzo if her partner wanting to be involved with someone else would play on her jealousy. Lizzo revealed: “It’s just love. It’s like, ‘I just love you. I’m not worried about nobody else. I’m not worried about anybody else sexually, romantically or emotionally. I’m just worried about you. I’m just thinking about you. I think that’s what we have, which is the most beautiful, pure thing ever.”
Ironically, sexual wellness company Lovehoney, predicted that more people would reveal their poly nature after a few years of a pandemic and in just eight months, its theory has come to life.
