K-Pop's Latest Group NewJeans Drops "Hype Boy" Music Video Ahead of Official Debut
Arriving in different versions specific to each member.
NewJeans, the latest K-pop girl group from Min Hee-jin’s label ADOR, has already released their second music video, following their first-ever release “Attention” this week.
Marking their second track, “Hype Boy” is accompanied by a 50-second clip starring the rookie act’s members — Hanni, Danielle, Minji, Haerin and Hyein. The artists message one another in a group chat, seemingly talking about a “hype boy.” The visual concludes with a rabbit graphic, which was used to tease NewJeans ahead of their official reveal. The end of the video clip unveils different versions of the “Hype Boy” music video specific to each member.
Fans have noticed that ADOR is taking an unconventional approach for its latest project, with NewJeans dropping new music videos back-to-back, in contrast to releasing multiple teasers for a single track. One fan commented: “Min Hee-jin’s vision is actually insane! Like who really thinks of making different MVs with different POVs? This is genius fr, NewJeans is going to be BIG.” Another wrote: “NewJeans, while having a terrible group name, has had the most interesting group debut I’ve ever seen in K-pop. Loving this, and they have the sonics to back it all up.”
