COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Air Max 97 Has an Official Launch Date

COMME des GARÇONS expands its sneaker portfolio as it unveils the upcoming release of its Nike Air Max 97 collaboration. The design initially made its first appearance on Rei Kawakubo’s CdG HOMME PLUS runway for the Fall/Winter 2022 season.
Taking inspiration from the nomadic lifestyle, Kawakubo gave Nike’s most iconic ‘90s silhouette a subtly weathered and worn-in edit. The upper features a ripple-like texture throughout, while a defining air-cushioned sole rounds out the design. Branding is kept minimal with an Air Max text printed on the rear. Meanwhile, Swooshes and COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS’ logo make an appearance on the footbed.
The collection is set to arrive in two colorways. The first iteration, dubbed “Glacier Grey,” sports a cool-toned grey and white palette, while the second design is dressed in classic black.
