Nike's Upcoming Air Max Scorpion Offers the Most Air

One of the Swoosh’s most innovative sneakers to date.

Nike enters a new age of Air with the upcoming release of its most innovative sneaker yet. Dubbed the Air Max Scorpion, the latest drop is set to offer the most “Air” compared to its preceding iterations.

Introduced as one of the brand’s early projects during the pandemic, the design is a product of a hand-in-hand collaboration between designers, engineers and developers. Interspersed with the sneaker is the use of new digital tools and technologies that helped the development process to be condensed into 18 months. The new approach also shed light on a fresh radical system for Air units, producing a unique underfoot sensation that brings wearers greater awareness of their movement.

The improved computational design also helped perfect Air Max Scorpion’s optimal outsole traction pattern and precisely grade its performance benefits. Crafted from recycled materials, the sneaker is balanced with a first-of-its-kind Flyknit chenille upper forming a soft pile texture. Meanwhile, its airbag system became a standout feature, providing a pistol-like effect through point-loaded contact points between the foot and the airbag.

Take a look at Nike’s latest innovation in the gallery above. Priced at $1,699 HKD (approximately $216 USD) a pair, the new Air Max Scorpion will be available on September 27 at Nike’s stores.
