Here’s your first look at Jaafar as the King of Pop.
Michael Jackson‘s legacy lives on with the help of fans and his family. The King of Pop’s nephew Jaafar Jackson will be playing him in an upcoming biopic directed by Antoine Fuqua for Lionsgate.
Jaafar, who’s Jermaine Jackson’s son, shared the exciting news on social media. “I’m humbled and honored to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life,” he captioned an Instagram photo of himself dressed like Michael. “To all the fans all over the world, I’ll see you soon.”
Additionally, Fuqua has expressed his excitement over the casting of Jaafar as Michael. “Proud to announce @jaafarjackson as Michael — the motion picture event that explores the journey of the man who became the King of Pop,” he captioned the same photo. “Coming soon.”
According to Deadline, “the film will not shy away from the controversies of Jackson’s life, the pedophile accusations that haunted his latest years up to his death in 2009 at age 50, from cardiac arrest caused by a cocktail of sedatives.”
