Sexyy Red “Heartbroken” as Sex Tape Leaks Without Consent

Sparking a discussion on sex-positive women and consent.

Sex-positive rapper Sexyy Red responds on Twitter after NSFW video was posted – without her consent.

On October 5, Sexyy Red fans were shocked to witness a sex tape posted to her Instagram story. Despite the “Pound Town” singer’s playful nature, it was a clear disconnect from her usual content. In just a few hours she confirmed via Twitter that the clip was nonconsensual. “I’m so heartbroken anybody that kno me knows I wouldn’t do no goofy sht like that 💔😢,” she tweeted.

Having garnered a cult following with her Summer 2023 takeover, her fans immediately responded in defense and support of their fav. Unfortunately, the rapper has disabled her reply section, which was once a safe space for fellow sex-positive fans.

However, one reaction in particular, has garnered backlash of its own. ”Sad Sexy Red is hurt by the sex [sex] tape leak, but it is actually on brand based on the music. Still terrible tho,” tweeted radio personality, Ebro Darden. The internet swiftly chimed in, denouncing Darden’s hot take and opened a much needed conversation on consent and sex-positivity.

“Being sex positive in her lyrical content — or in life — does not equate to having her privacy violated with revenge p-rn,” a Twitter user wrote. “It is not okay because it’s ‘on brand,’ nor does it negate her feelings about it.”

Darden has since deleted his tweet.
