Paris Hilton, KarJenners and CD Bags: Your Definitive Recap of Paris Fashion Week SS24

Featuring celeb runway debuts, viral accessories and sensual Parisian residencies.

The Spring/Summer 2024 iteration of Paris Fashion Week has officially come and gone and as always, there’s a lot to process. From celebrity runway debuts to buzzy accessories and viral moments, SS24 was another eventful season that we’ll be thinking about for years to come.

This season, celebrity attendance was at an all-time high, as we spotted the likes of Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Penn Badgley, Zendaya, Pharrell and Tube Girl on the streets of Paris, along with Hilton, Angela Bassett and Troye Sivan making runway debuts. Elsewhere, we saw Balenciaga come back with a bang, as Demna presented a heartfelt showcase featuring his mom, former professors and husband as runway models, while UNDERCOVER showcased a series of hauntingly beautiful terrarium dresses, complete with live butterflies.

Viral accessories had their place too, as is customary for fashion week, defined this season by Coperni’s retro CD bag and Balenciaga’s shoe clutches. Finally, fashion week parties were in competition with Usher‘s sensual Parisian residency at La Seine Musicale, which took place from September 24 all the way till the end of fashion week.

Read on for Hypebae’s summary of this season at Paris Fashion Week. While you’re here, remind yourself of what went down at Milan Fashion Week and London Fashion Week.

Paris Hilton Walking for Mugler

valentino kris jenner coperni cd bag paris hilton mugler runway Paris Hilton made a splash at fashion week this season, attending everything from Balenciaga to Valentino. Most surprisingly though, Hilton turned heads on the penultimate day of PFW, walking the wind-tunnelled runway for Casey Cadwallader’s Mugler. She was joined by designer Mowalola, model Paloma Elsesser and actor Angela Bassett, with Tyga, Issa Rae and Barbara Palvin sat front row.

Kris Jenner Attending Basically Everything

valentino kris jenner coperni cd bag paris hilton mugler runway Auntie Kris made more than a few appearances at fashion week this season, attending the likes of LOEWE, Balenciaga, Valentino and Victoria Beckham. The momager was likely in town to support her kids as Kendall Jenner walked for VB and Schiaparelli. Kylie Jenner was also spotted attending the Acne Studios show, while Kim Kardashian caused a stir at VB as she arrived fashionably late to support her sister (to Anna Wintour’s disappointment.)

UNDERCOVER’s Insane Terrarium Dresses

Alongside tufted rug skirts with faces, Jun Takahashi presented a series of glow-in-the-dark terrarium dresses, complete with real-life butterflies fluttering around inside (safely, with air ventilation, of course.)

FKA Twigs Performing at Valentino

valentino kris jenner coperni cd bag paris hilton mugler runway It wouldn’t be fashion week without music x fashion crossovers and this season, Valentino took things to the next level by including a captivating performance by FKA twigs within its SS24 presentation. Performing alongside a series of dancers, all dressed in skin-colored tones, the performance saw FKA twigs accompanying the showcase with ASMR, interpretive dances and a compilation of tracks.

Bryanboy Says No to Protestors

Protestors at fashion week is nothing new, especially given the sheer amount of brands still using animal furs and leathers within their collections. However this season, a protestor at Hermes was given a shock as one of the show’s attendees, Bryanboy, ripped a sign out of her hands as she was escorted out of the show. His decision was met with controversy as commentors stated it was a clear indicator of his supposedly questionable values, something which he is yet to comment on.

Wild Wild Bags on the Runway

valentino kris jenner coperni cd bag paris hilton mugler runway Every season, there’s a viral accessory or two that makes fashion-goers question everything. Previous iterations included LOEWE’s balloon pumps, JW Anderson’s frog clogs and Mowalola’s Timberland boot bags and this season, we were treated to more than a few new editions. From Balenciaga’s shoe clutch bags and grocery-style shoppers to Coperni’s nostalgic CD player bag, it’s safe to say that for the SS24 season ahead, literally anything can be an accessory.

Usher’s Parisian Residency valentino kris jenner coperni cd bag paris hilton mugler runway

While not strictly a Paris Fashion Week event, Usher’s La Seine Musicale residency was the talk of the city this season as the artist attended a multitude of fashion week shows whilst performing his own. From September 24 to October 5, Usher performed a series of steamy shows that included sparkly suits, makeshift strip clubs and rollerskating, with celebs like Leomie Anderson and Emily Ratajkowski in attendance.
