I’ve been in the beauty game for quite some time and have heard of and tried many different tips, tricks and techniques to do my makeup over the years, but never in a million years did I think concealer would be used in creating a lip combo. However, It Girl Sofia Richie gagged me with her latest lipstick combo.
The star whose GRWM videos on TikTok always hit a viral play took to BeautyTok to post a tutorial, using YSL Candy Glaze Lip Gloss Sticks, but what made the entire moment stand out was the surprise additive: Concealer.
Richie opened up the video explaining that she was going to recreate a “pumpkin spice” lips combo that she saw on her FYP page, but with YSL Beauty’s Candy Glaze Lip Gloss Sticks in “Scenic Brown” and “Showcasing Nude.” Particularly this piqued my interest as influencers such as Sean Garette have said that “Scenic Brown” from the collection is the lippie the girlies need to get into.

For Richie, she says the lip product is one of her faves as it is “so hydrating” and “easy to carry around.” As one who swears by the regular healthy glow plumper in the product, I wholeheartedly stand by her claims about the product from YSL Beauty.
She dabs the deeper brown shade over her lips and blends it out, followed by a layer of the lighter nude shade over the top, going in a bit heavier. Once she had an even coating, she dabbed a tiny bit of concealer over her lips, calling it the “cherry on top.” The blend of the concealer gave her a beautiful pumpkin seed ombré lip.
Truly, I didn’t know the girls were using concealer on their lips until now. Now, we’ll all be rocking “pumpkin seed” lips for fall. Thanks, Sofia!
