Luxury at Home With Kvadrat and Raf Simons' Second Lifestyle Collaboration

A new chapter focusing on bathing through high-quality accessories.

Unwinding at home doesn’t require much, but doing so in the latest Raf Simons and Kvadrat’s home accessories collaboration might make one feel a sense of impenitent glamour. Dubbed “Collection 2,” the release continues the successful launch of Shaker System by the two imprints last year.

This second drop brings a variety of shapes and four different colors, or as described by the Belgian designer, “a perfect composition of function and aesthetics.” Highlights include textured slippers, terry cotton bathrobes, hybrid clutch bags, toiletry bags, beach towels, wool throws, cashmere blankets and pillowcases that work alongside the “Shaker Bar,” a horizontal rail upholstered with textile Vidar 4 and inspired by modern living.

Ideating the collection by observing how we move and create a sense of harmony within our spaces was a starting point for Simons, who commented: “I live in a modernist apartment in Antwerp, and the bathroom and bedroom are kind of connected. If I don’t want my bathrobe around, I have to fold it and put it in a closet which, of course, you don’t do.”

He added, “You come out of the bath, it’s half wet, and you just want to hang it. If it is a beautiful bathrobe or towel and there’s a matching system to hang it on, then it’s a perfect composition of function and aesthetics.”

Collection 2 launches on January 31 at Kvadrat/Raf Simons’ concept store in Copenhagen. A second release will arrive via selected retailers, such as Dover Street Market in Beijing and 10 Corso Como in Milan.
