Riley Keough Opens up About Her Musical Journey for 'Daisy Jones & the Six'
Elvis Presley’s eldest grandchild discusses her latest role.
You might know Riley Keough from her previous acting roles or as Elvis Presley‘s eldest grandchild. However, now fans will get to see her in a whole new light as she portrays the fictional ’70s singer Daisy Jones in Prime Video‘s Daisy Jones & the Six.
Keough opened up about bringing her character to life despite not being experienced in music. “It’s pretty amazing,” she told ET. “I think we really came from not being able to play anything on a guitar or sing really, to having a full record going out which is like it’s crazy to us I think. We had months of jam sessions, so we had months of rehearsals, so we were basically in band practice for, I don’t know, a year.”
In another interview, Keough got candid about what her character’s personality is like. “Daisy is complicated,” she told The New York Times. “I didn’t identify with Daisy’s desire to sing and write songs, because that’s something I had never done. What I connected with was Daisy’s artistry and how she felt, not being taken seriously as a young woman.”
Daisy Jones & the Six, which is based on the 2019 book by Taylor Jenkins, premieres on Prime Video on March 3. Revisit the trailer above.
