Barbie Ferreira Opens Up About Her 'Euphoria' Exit
In a new interview, she addresses resurfaced rumors.
Barbie Ferreira was a fan-favorite on Euphoria. In August 2022, she announced her departure from Euphoria and teased why. Well, three years later, she opens up about rumors of her walking off of set.
“I never walked off set,” Ferreira said on her March 19 appearance of The Viall Files.
“There was never anything like that. That was like a whole thing. I absolutely never did that. You could ask the hundreds of people that were there every day.”
Despite fans blaming her for leaving the show, she’s reminded fans that “It wasn’t just my choice. “I think after having a lot of conversation and after season two, there was just nowhere to go. Instead of me lingering around for nine months, it was best for both of us that we just kind of ended it there.”
She continued to defend her Euphoria character, Kat Hernandez and why that role meant so much to her. ”Kat means the world to me. I spent so many years pouring everything into her, but you don’t wanna ruin a good thing. It was a mutual decision. It was absolutely not just me…. There was a lot of discourse about it that wasn’t true.”
In 2022, she teased her decision to leave via the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast. “I think it was a mutual decision… I think my character who I love so dearly, I don’t think there was a place for her to go. She had run her course, story-wise.”
“I don’t know if it was going to do her justice and I think both parties knew that I really wanted to be able to not be the fat best friend, you know?
