Disney Unveils Movie Posters for All 'The Little Mermaid' Characters: Your First Look
Meet the reimagined Sebastian, Flounder, Scuttle and more.
Disney has finally introduced all the main characters in The Little Mermaid with the release of movie posters. The film, which premieres in exactly one month, stars Halle Bailey in the titular role.
Disney took to social media to share a preview of Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian, Awkwafina as Scuttle and Jacob Tremblay as Flounder.
The live-action of The Little Mermaid will stay true to the animated 1989 film; however, it will feature changes to reflect our world today. For starters, lyrics to “Kiss the Girl” and “Poor Unfortunate Souls” have been updated to include consent. Bailey will incorporate her real-life locs in her portrayal of Ariel for representation and diversity. Additionally, McCarthy will channel drag queens for her villain role.
