"Barbie Doll Dewiness" Is How Minimalists Will Lead With Blush for the Summer

We’re only going with a pretty glow all summer 2023.

It’s always a good time to think pink, but we’re noticing a hot rise in the color ahead of the Barbie film release. Beauty enthusiasts are saturating themselves with all things Barbie-esque, from pink statement lipsticks and gloss to blush, false eyelashes and heavily bleached hair. But it is the full flush of pink blush that has our attention.

“Barbie Doll Dewy Cheeks,” introduced to the masses by makeup artist Nam Vo, is mixed with her “dew dumpling” technique. This specific look is where you incorporate pink blush into your glam routine in the sheerest and soft way, creating a “flushed but fresh” effect. In the video below, you’ll see the artist use one of Fenty Beauty‘s no longer available blushes to get that “Fenty-Barbie” look.

However you can use any blush you prefer, but the key to achieving the dewiness of the look is to mix in a bit of illuminator to your blush and sheer it out with the blush — being sure to apply with your fingers or a thin blush brush into your cheeks for a seamless flush of color.
