Niki Nicole and Young Miko have teamed up to release a new music video for their collab “8AM.”
The track, which appears on Nicki Nicole’s latest album, ALMA, is a perfect representation of how Spanglish is used within music and the Latino communities. Additionally, both artists lend their unique styles to the track — both visually and lyrically.
Nicki Nicole, who’s dressed in white, shows her feminine side with her softer-toned singing and raps. Meanwhile, Young Miko, who’s in all black, empowers through her trap. The Argentinian singer-slash-rapper and the Puerto Rican trap artist are paving the wave for female Latin artists in the urban scene and this music video fully symbolizes that.
From a lyrical standpoint, Nicki Nicole and Young Miko are taking power into their own hands as they bluntly call out a love interest.
