A Look Inside HBO's 'The Idol' Premiere in Cannes

From red carpet looks to afterparties and everything in between.

The Idol had its long-awaited premiere at Cannes Film Festival on May 22 and as expected, the stars of the show put their best foot forward at the iconic red carpet event.

Dressed head to toe in Chanel were leading actors, Jennie Ruby Jane and Lily-Rose Depp, while The Weeknd (now known as Abel Tesfaye) opted for a smart black tuxedo. Also in attendance were cast members Troye Sivan and Hari Nef, alongside director Sam Levinson and Julia Fox.

Following the premiere (which resulted in a standing ovation at the film festival) the stars made their way to the after-party, where BLACKPINK‘s Jennie was spotted wearing shoes by Jimmy Choo, with Sivan opting for an Alexander McQueen cutaway vest and high-waisted trousers.

While anticipation for the show’s release date has run high, there’s also been a lot of controversy surrounding Levinson’s forthcoming series. Following the premiere, The Idol was described as a “Pornhub-homepage odyssey starring Lily-Rose Depp’s areolas,” alongside dubbed “50 Shades of Tesfaye.”

Check out the stars in all their red carpet glory above and while you’re here, take a closer look at Jennie’s full Chanel look.
