Janelle Monáe Gets Wild and Wet in "Water Slide" Music Video
It’s a bacchanal.
Janelle Monáe is fully sitting in her grown and sexy era as the multi-talented artist has just dropped the music video for “Water Slide,” releasing a sensual summertime anthem.
Featuring a sample of Jamaican dancehall DJ Sister Nancy’s song, “Bam Bam,” the hypnotic track is a celebration of pleasure and self-love as Monáe sings, “If I could f–k me right here, right now/I would do that.” Highlighting melanin in all of its shape and sizes, the music video is co-directed by Monáe and Alan Ferguson, showcasing the Grammy award-winning singer’s creative chops.
Closing out the summer on a high note, Monáe’s North American tour for The Age of Pleasure will begin on August 30 at Seattle, Washington’s WAMU Theater, making stops in Atlanta, Chicago, Manhattan and Brooklyn.
