News that The Powerpuff Girls would be joining forces with Nike first landed back in March this year and at the time, no semblance of the duo’s visual identity had been shared. At long last, we now have a first look at what the collaboration may entail.
Landing in the form of an SB Dunk collection, the new collaboration sees characters Blossom, Buttercup and Bubbles taking center stage across the cult-loved silhouette, arriving in shades of red, green and blue.
The collection seemingly arrives in celebration of Craig McCracken’s reboot announcement, which confirmed that an animated reboot of the series would be landing, alongside a live-action remake starring Dove Cameron. “So excited to partner with an incredible studio to develop new characters and stories for two of my favorite creations, Powerpuff Girls, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends Reboots in the Works by Original Creator Craig McCracken,” McCracken announced in July.
First-look images of the collection arrive courtesy of sneaker account @jfgrails, which revealed a closer look at all three colorways. According to the images, the sneaker backtabs are set to feature the eyes of each respective Powerpuff Girl, with each color paying tribute to the character. According to jfgrails, there’s also the potential of a friends and family exclusive, landing in the form of a purple Mojo Jojo iteration.
Take a closer look at the colorways above, with the collaboration rumored to drop sometime in December.
